IMPRESSIVE PROJECT DEVELOPMENT PORTFOLIO
Syntaris Power Corp. (formerly Max Pacific Power Inc.), is a Vancouver-based green energy company*. The company is focused on becoming the pre-eminent developer of green energy in the Province of British Columbia and has amassed an impressive portfolio of hydropower projects in British Columbia.
The company has applied for or holds forty two applications on rivers or creeks in British Columbia representing an expected total of over six hundred (600) Megawatts of potential electrical capacity, for development. This includes three core projects currently submitted for an Energy Purchase Agreement to the British Columbia Hydro (BC Hydro) Clean Call for Power. These projects have an estimated total capacity of approximately 104 Megawatts of electrical power.
BC Hydro is looking for clean and renewable power to secure the province’s future electricity supply and is proceeding with the Clean Power Call by issuing a request for proposals from Independent Power Producers. They have now received proposals from Independent Power Producers as of November 25th, 2008. The acquisition target is set at 5,000 GWh per year of seasonal and hourly firm energy through a competitive process.
TOP NOTCH MANAGEMENT TEAM
Syntaris Power Corp has assembled a superb, seasoned senior management team with an impressive global track record in the design, construction and operation of large scale hydro-electric power plants, biomass plants, co-generation plants and non energy large scale infrastructure projects. Some of the senior management team have also designed and built power grids in many parts of the world. ENERGY GAP
According to BC Hydro, the demand for energy in the province will increase between twenty-five percent (25%) and forty-five percent (45%) over the next twenty years. Currently there is a shortage of electricity to meet demand in British Columbia. BC Hydro imports between ten percent (10%) and fifteen percent (15%) of its electrical power from the United States. One in eight homes in BC is presently powered by imported electricity.
PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT’S DEMAND FOR GREEN ENERGY
The provincial government’s energy plan calls for all new electricity generation projects to have zero net greenhouse gas emissions and ensures that clean or renewable electricity generation continues to account for at least ninety percent (90%) of total electricity generation. The plan also requires that the province achieve electricity self-sufficiency by 2016.
ENERGY PRICES
Most energy industry analysts are predicting that the trend for high energy prices will continue, strengthening the ongoing need for the development of sustainable green energy projects by independent power producers.
