Notice to our Shareholders: At the end of March, the Company was awarded an Energy Purchase Agreement (EPA) from BC Hydro for the Culliton Creek Project. Link to News Release. The proposed Kinskuch Hydro Project is still under consideration for an EPA by BC Hydro. These two projects have an estimated total capacity of approximately 91 Megawatts of electrical power and offer easy access to the existing power transmission grid. BC Hydro is expected to announce a list of additional projects receiving EPAs by the end of April.

At a celebratory announcement staged at the historic W.A.C. Bennett Dam near Hudson’s Hope in northeast B.C., upstream of the proposed location for Site C, Premier Gordon Campbell said the dam will be developed as a public project creating lasting benefits for northern communities and first nations.Campbell further added that the primary reason for Site C is to meet future energy demand within British Columbia — not to develop new power sources for export — because B.C. over the past decade has shifted into a net importer of electricity.”The decision has been made and it has been made on this basis — over the next 20 years, between now and 2030, we expect our energy demands to increase between 20 and 40 per cent.” Link to full article
Two run-of-river projects near Squamish have been awarded electricity purchase agreements in the second phase of B.C. Hydro’s call for clean power proposals. Alberta’s Enmax Corporation and Syntaris Power, a Vancouver-based green energy company, is promoting the Culliton Creek project. The run-of-river facility is to be located about 20 kilometres north of Squamish and generate a total capacity of 15 MW. Link to full article
The Provincial government’s environmental assessment office has officially started to review the long-planned Northwest Transmission Line….The transmission line, which would start at the Skeena Substation near Terrace, would run up Hwy37 North, ending at a place called Bob Quinn. Its construction will lead to the ability of mining companies with promising properties to develop those properties because they will have access to reliable and cost-effective power. …Construction of the line will also open up the possibility of companies to produce power via run of river generators or other means and feed that power into the provincial grid.
